Root growth and establishment

  • K promotes rooting and the storage of carbohydrates
  • P is a key component of ATP and promotes root development, maturation, establishment and tillering
  • Ca is responsible for proper cell division and assists in protecting new plant tissue

The crown growth zone

  • K promotes meristematic tissue and increases thickness of outer cell walls improving abiotic and biotic stress tolerance
  • B is involved in auxin metabolism, root elongation, protein and phosphate  utilization
  • Zn is involved in the conversion of ammonium to amino nitrogen, and is important for the development and function of growth regulators

Leaf growth and healthy canopy

  • N is used in the formation of proteins and stimulates leaf growth by producing new, darker green leaves
  • K balances turgor pressure within cells and regulates water loss through transpiration
  • Mg is an important component for chlorophyll production and activates enzymes for phosphate metabolism and cell respiration
  • S is required for protein synthesis and nitrate metabolism
  • Fe is essential for chlorophyll formation, increasing color and shoot growth
  • Mn plays a key role in photosynthesis and oxide-reduction reactions in cells
  • Mo enables nitrogen utilization
  • Cu serves as a catalyst in photosynthesis and respiration
